As opposed to the earlier project, this variant adopted in no small way the booster system used for current-day space vehicles. Of orthodox configuration, it was to have been powered by two Jumo 004A turbojets and mounted on a liquid—propellant rocket motor of 27,500kp take-off thrust developed by the Electromechanische Werke, Karlshagen; the whole assembly taking-off vertically. After burnout, the rocket booster separated from the fighter which then proceeded on its mission in level flight. Unlike the Hohenjager I, it was fitted with a 3—point undercarriage, but this is not clearly denoted on the drawing. The rocket had a tank for each of the A-Stoff and M-Stoff fuels, with T-Stoff and Z-Stoff tanks for the turbopump. Fuel for the turbojets was to have been contained in two fuselage tanks in the aircraft.
